Birth Statistics

Birth KIC allows you to create statistics for birth outcomes, by year, age-group, sex, race, and county. Select row and column variables to define the table of results. Use filters in optional step 2 to limit results. The most current year is 2024 births. See birth statistics notes and limitations for more information on this dataset and how it was prepared. NOTE: Beginning 2005 the birth certificate format was updated redefining (additional fields) the information that is recorded for all births. Therefore, data prior to 2005 will not be available for some groups indicators, groups such as "Mother Smoked", "Breastfeeding", "WIC Participation", "Pay Source" and "Diabetes".

NOTE: Area lists will be "greyed out" and non-selectable except for the areas related to the category selected above. To select multiple areas in a give category, hold "Ctrl" Key down while making choices. See "Help & Notes" for further instructions.


NOTE: Counties in a region/group can be determined by viewing the resource maps page.
